As Cockburn scrolled through the gossip about Kim Kardashian’s latest breakup (this time with Pete Davidson), he couldn’t help but think of her show, a sloppy soap opera/reality TV series where drama runs with tear-stained makeup.
Sound familiar?
Cockburn couldn’t help but think of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. After all, lately there’s been enough drama in her family to fill at least three seasons of runtime (at a conservative estimate, of course).
Pelosi, having successfully returned home from her long-awaited trip to Taiwan, is now engaging in another slap-fight with Xi Jinping. In an interview on NBC’s Today, she said of the trip, “Yes, it was worth it,” and “[Xi] is in a fragile place…he’s acting like a scared bully.”
That’s piling insult upon injury at a time when some are frightened of a war between America and China breaking out — or any war in general, really. Though the continual back-and-forth does bring back fond memories of Trump and Kim Jong-un’s rivalry, Cockburn doubts this nuclear-level soap opera will be settled so amicably.
Another big Pelosi statement in this interview concerned the recent raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. She said, “No one is above the law, not even a presidential informer — president of the United States.” Hmmm…
In unrelated news, the lawyer of Paul Pelosi Sr., Nancy’s husband, pleaded not guilty for him in court. Also, it turns out Nancy wasn’t the only Pelosi in Taiwan. Despite the constant coverage of the trip, nobody noticed Paul Pelosi Jr. along for the ride.
As Jesse Watters said in a monologue on his Fox News show:
Pauly Jr. is on the payroll of two lithium mining companies and Asia just happens to be a lithium gold mine and Taiwan just happens to be a world leader in lithium battery production. He’s also heavily invested in Singapore’s energy sector. Wasn’t that another stop on Nancy’s trip?
South Korea is another place where the Fresh Prince does business. Just a few months ago, his company struck up an EV battery deal there. What do you know, Nancy went to South Korea also.
Watters said that Fox had called and emailed the speaker’s office multiple times to confirm this to no avail, though the Gateway Pundit later confirmed the Pelosi son’s presence. As much as Nancy’s trip garnered the adulation of the media and further grandstanding from an embarrassed China, it also exposed her family’s ulterior motives for visiting those places in the first place.
Then again, one thing Cockburn learned during his investigation was that Nancy knows best — especially when it comes to her media coverage.
