It’s been less than a week since the trailer for Gutsy, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton’s new Apple TV+ docu-series, was released — and now the former FLOTUS is seeking other means of stealing the limelight.

On Sunday, she told Finnish prime minister Sanna Marin to “keep dancing,” in what seemed to be a selfless act of support for a fellow #girlboss.

Forgive Cockburn for his cynicism but he can’t help but wonder if Hillary wants to make this all about her, seeing as the leaked video of the Finnish PM drunkenly dancing with friends was published online, er, twelve days ago.

In a Twitter post, the ex-presidential candidate wrote:

As Ann Richards said, “Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire did. She just did it backwards and in high heels.”

Here’s me in Cartagena while I was there for a meeting as Secretary of State.

Keep dancing, @marinsanna.

Cockburn is sure that Marin will be able to sleep at night now that Hillary has chimed in about the fiasco. It’s just a shame that it came weeks after multiple press conferences that saw Marin reduced to tears, taking a drug test and withstanding calls for her resignation from opposition members.

At least the photo may put some of the QAnon rumors to bed, as Cockburn can’t seem to spot much child sacrifice going on at Hillary’s Cartagena rager.

Marin responded to Hillary’s supportive tweet thanking her with a heart emoji.

Let’s hope that Hillary’s dance moves are all we have to endure. After the initial video of Marin was leaked, fresh controversy arose when a second set of images emerged, showing two well-known Finnish female influencers kissing each other, covering their bare breasts with a “Finland” sign in the prime minister’s official residence in Helsinki. Cockburn wonders whether if Hillary finds herself starved of attention for another week, she’ll start tweeting out of naked photos of herself brandishing a “Together Stronger” placard.

Cockburn sees Hillary’s post as a desperate attempt to generate news and appear relevant — but, like many of her fellow boomers, she’s yet to learn that coming out in defense of someone is only cool when the event is actually happening.

Perhaps Hillary will try to poach Marin for the next season of Gutsy, which focuses on showcasing bold, brave women. Cockburn hopes that the Finnish PM realizes she’s too cool for carpooling with the Clintons.
