Americans are not fans of Vice President Kamala Harris, but Democratic strategists are convinced it’s just a messaging problem. If they could only explain to those silly voters why they should like Harris, then her dreams of winning the presidency in 2024 would be realized.

That was the elitist arrogance behind a ‘crisis dinner’ for the Vice President last month featuring a legion of female Democratic strategists. Axios’s Jonathan Swan, who broke the story, astutely noted ‘it’s telling that so early in the Biden-Harris administration, such powerful operatives felt compelled to try to right the Vice President’s ship.’ One guest told Swan that the women had met to discuss the question: ‘how can this group contribute to make sure that not only is her team making the most of this moment — as the first woman of color in the White House — but how can we help from the outside?’

Former Clinton spokeswomen Adrienne Elrod and Karen Finney attended, because they obviously have significant experience trying to force an unsuitable and unlikable candidate on the masses.

There are plenty of valid reasons why voters dislike Harris. While she’s been overseeing the border crisis, illegal crossings have soared to record levels. It took her months to even visit the border, insisting that she was addressing the ‘root causes’ of the surge in migration. When asked by reporters when she would visit, she laughed at and mocked the idea, derisively saying that she also hasn’t been to Europe. She failed to get the Democrats’s ‘voting rights’ bill passed despite asking Biden to lead on the issue. Recent news stories have also alleged she runs a dysfunctional and toxic office.

The coven discussed using Harris’s record as a prosecutor to defend her against negative press coverage. What a truly brilliant strategy to remind voters of the very thing that sunk Harris’s presidential run. That’s why these ladies get paid the big bucks!

If you criticize them or Harris, though, you will be accused of ‘sexist overtones.’ Harris’s allies want to ‘make sure the press knows this’. It’s much easier to blame Harris’s low approval ratings on bigotry rather than her own poor performance.

Have any of these strategists considered that they would have a much better chance at achieving their dream of a first female president if they let a popular candidate emerge organically? Instead they tell themselves that they aren’t wrong about Harris, everyone else is. Their arrogance truly knows no bounds.
