Cardi B, the well-known rapper and mixologist, has finally acknowledged the financial reality facing many Americans today. Last week, she tweeted, “When y’all think they going to announce that we going into a recession?”

Cockburn notes that such astute words perfectly capture how the Biden administration has raised costs for everyone, from the working class to those who can afford to live in this economy, also known as millionaires.
Thankfully, the administration responded to her concerns. Janet Yellen, the secretary of the treasury, replied, “Don’t look to me to announce it. I’m not going to announce it. I don’t think we’re going to have a recession. I expect growth…

I expect growth to slow down. We have a very strong economy.”

What stirring words from a person who does not understand how inflation works. Unreasonable prices and product shortages do not equal a strong economy, Janet!

Cockburn can’t help but ask why it was the rampant inflation that made Miss B face the music on the Biden administration. Why not the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal, the administration’s attacks on parents attending school board meetings, or the administration busing illegal immigrants across the United States?

Sadly, inflation is just a symptom of the Biden administration’s awful fiscal policies, which pair nicely with their incompetency in other areas of legislation. It began with them shutting down the Keystone XL Pipeline, seriously limiting America’s self-sufficiency in the energy market. After that, all we had to do was watch as one destructive policy after another unfolded.

Ironically, Cardi B encouraged her fans to vote for Biden. Why is she suddenly complaining about the Build Back Better plan? Isn’t this what she wanted? It seems like she’s having a case of buyer’s remorse. Cockburn can only wonder whether she will mention this in her next interview with him.
